Susan and I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Take a moment and pull away from the busyness of the day … and read a few Scriptures on thanksgiving … and reflect on the reality that in every situation, our God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, is worthy of our thanksgiving … and not only today, but always.

Col 3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

1Th 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Eph 5:20  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Heb 13:15  By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

1Ti 2:1  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Col 1:12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Col 3:17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Eph 5:4  Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

Luk 17:16  And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

Ezr 3:11  And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

Rev 11:17  Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

Psa 140:13  Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Psa 107:1  O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psa 35:18  I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

Next week, Susan and I will be traveling to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware for meetings … and tentatively in Maryland. Please be in prayer with us and for us. We desire to be effective ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for His glory. Pray that we will be a blessing, and that God will allow us to be fruitful for Him and for His people. As the Lord leads us, we will be singing and ministering in music, and preaching and teaching the Word of God. We expect manifestations of His Spirit. We humbly desire to be useful instruments of His, reaching out to people to edify them spiritually and to minister to them physically. Pray with us that His gifts will be in manifestation.

As you might expect, this also presents a financial need. God is faithful and He meets the need, but He often uses people. We thank you for your hearing and obeying His voice … and even those who are not specifically aware of the leading of the Lord, but just want to support this ministry, we appreciate you! Our partners in ministry are so very valuable to us.

If you know of churches and/or ministries that would be open to this ministry, let us know … let them know.

God bless you!

It begins with a song I wrote many years ago. I’ve not done it much lately … sort of left it on the shelf for many years. It’s now one I want to work on, though … when I can find time to get into my recording studio more. Here are the words:

I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.
I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.

God gave His only Son, out of love for me;
So if I believed in Him, I’d live eternally.
I called on Jesus; He took me in;
Introduced me to my God; I was cleansed of sin.
The devil didn’t like it; he couldn’t stop a thing;
Jesus took his power; that is why I sing.

I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.
I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.

I’m a brand new creature; God’s life’s in me.
I received the Holy Ghost, precious and free.
Now I have the power of God, His ability;
The very love of God is shed abroad in me.
I partake of His nature; the Bible is the key.
Jesus rose up from the dead to live inside of me.

I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.
I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.

The love of the Father … it is so great. (4x)

I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.
I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.

The devil doesn’t like it, when I praise the Lord;
Who cares what the devil likes; I’ll praise the Lord some more.

I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.
I want to praise Him … my Lord Jesus.

Oh how I praise You … my Lord Jesus!

There is a new series available: Effective Faith That Brings Results. This is a four CD series (free shipping) for $16. You may order singles for $5 each if you would like, but I encourage you to listen to all four messages – even more than once. We don’t usually get it all just listening one time. Let the Word of God feed you and enrich you … and build your faith.

These four CDs are:

  • How Faith Comes & Grows
  • Faith Works & Rests
  • Companions Of Faith
  • Hindrances To Faith

You may order these online at http://mccanlessministries.com/cds.htm. You also may email the address on the home page, or call McCanless Ministries at 336.799.0518.

Ordering these CDs will bring you teaching about faith that I trust will bless you. But it will also bless this ministry and help provide financial support as we continue to serve the Lord. Susan and I want to reach out and be available to respond to invitations, even from small churches that may not have the finances to pay our expenses. Your support helps us do that. We thank God for our Friends & Partners. Any offering small or large … once or monthly … helps. And the purchase of the CDs, tracts, and books also add to that financial blessing. We trust that God will also bless you! He said that He would … so let’s believe that together.

In August, 1993, I was in Jamaica ministering in several churches and conventions. Bobby Jenkins did some wonderful preaching in a Friday night service in Kingston. In that same service, Bishop V.T. Williams moved in the Spirit leading in praise and worship. The anointing was wonderful. I’ve replaced the previous video on my homepage at www.mccanlessministries.com to now include more of the praise and worship with Bishop Williams and myself. As I mentioned in the previous post, I suggested to Bishop Williams that I thought I had something from the Spirit of God that would flow with the service. He gave me permission, not really knowing me, but sensing the witness of the Spirit. What a time we had in the Holy Ghost!

I’ve also included on the homepage a video of my participation in a tent meeting that same week with Bishop Herro Blair, also from Kingston. There are more videos in my McCanless Ministries YouTube Channel.

God Richly Bless You!

Today I uploaded a video from August 13, 1993. This is at The Jamaica Evangelistic Association Annual Convention with Bishop V.T. Williams in Kingston, Jamaica. It was about 10 PM on a Friday night … a powerful service still going strong. I whispered in Bishop Williams’ ear that I thought I had something from the Spirit of God that would fit in with the flow of the service. He turned the mic over to me. A few spontaneous choruses came as prompted by the leading of the Spirit. It begins with … “Get ready for the vision … the vision of the Lord is, take it back.” It ends with … “Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Walk in the day; don’t walk in the night.” Bishop Williams takes the service back and has several children sing along. I still enjoy the expression on those children’s faces and hearing them sing. Now nearly 20 years later, I hope they’re serving God with their whole hearts!
